I love these new peace sign images recently released by DRS Designs. I used a cuttlebug embossing folder for my green panel and on the sizzix daisies. I rock n rolled the large peace sign in orange and then pink passion ink. Some organdy ribbon and jewels finished things off. I Got One!!!

I'm loving this proud catch fisherman image that was recently released by DRS Designs. What a fun image to color. I added a shiny silver mirror paper fish with pop dots and a google eye.

I'm also loving this new hot diggity sentiment. I actually cut mine apart so that I could use the sentiment in various ways. With or without "dog". This is a great way to get more out of your stamps, especially if you're a rubber only person like myself.

Some twine and string finished things off.

For The Grad

I made a simple grad card for you today...

I simply stamped the teacher tools image twice. Mounted one on the card and then colored and cut out just the apple from my second stamping. I added the apple with a pop dot. This is such a great sentiment too. Some floss and a button finished things off.

Hi There - here we are again...time for another Color Throwdown color challenge.

Here are this week's colors:

Check out Frisky Florence on my card below...she is ready to party!!!

I used one of the new birthday sentiments that was recently released...I chose to "alter" the sentiment a bit. I left off "dog" by simply cutting my stamp with a straight cut so that the parts will fit together again. This way I can stamp the image in its entirety or simply remove the word dog so that the image becomes more versatile for me. Florence was fun to color. I added a Prima flower and brad to her hat and I gave her a pearl earring. It's hard to see in my photo but I stamped the gift background in dazzle versamark ink on my olive panel.

It's that time again! DRS Designs has just released a whole bunch of awesome new images. You can see them all HERE and here on my blog and the blogs of my fellow DT team mates. Stay tuned over the next couple of weeks for some fun projects with these fun new images.

Here is my first card using the awesome new giant open balloon image...

I think this new brush birthday sentiment will be a must have image. It's perfect size, perfect font and can be used on almost any style card. Some jewels, some yummy ribbon and a pin finished things off.

I can't believe I haven't used this awesome stonewall and gate image on a card yet! I kept my card simple as usual! I thought the new welcome sentiment was perfect for the welcoming gate. I added a bridal flower, jewel, vellum butterfly (MS punch) and added some fringe to my ribbon.

Hi There - hope you had a great weekend. It was a little dreary and wet here in CT but there is nothing wrong with relaxing and stamping for the day is there? Here is a product of my rainy day yesterday.

This is one of my favorite sentiments by DRS. I have to say, any card using this sentiment is a great card. Is it the size, the font..the sentiment itself? I dont know, I just feel like I have never made an ugly card using this sentiment! I stamped the new meduim daisy and the new polka dot background in white kraft ink on my card base.

Hi Everyone - I'm back with another Color Throwdown card!! Here are this week's colors:

DRS Designs came out with a bunch of awesome get well images in this past release. I used one of their great butterfly images on my card base. The sentiment is stamped in chocolate ink and I sprinkled some bridal flowers and flower punches around the sentiment.

Welcome back to another Color Throwdown color challenge. This week's colors are:

The daisy basket is from the latest release of images by DRS. The sentiment is one of my favorites! I simply stamped the image on a piece of cork paper by Magenta and layered it on the colors of the challenge. The chocolate layer is embossed with an embossing folder along with the color strips. I added jewels to the flower centers and kitchen twine and a button finished things off.

Today I have a First Communion card to share with you...

I stamped the focal image on a sheet of cork paper by Magenta. The square button is by Stampin Up! and has a piece of patterned paper attached. The sentiment is stamped just below the argyle embossing. Some bridal flowers, jewels and twine finished things off.

Simple Welcome

DRS Designs has done it again. Another great release of new images. Here is another pretty one that is sure to make anyone feel welcome...

The new butterfly oval image is beautiful and easy to color. The new welcome sentiment fits perfectly inside. The large oval was cut with a Creative Memories template, but this image was also designed for use with spellbinders dies.

My main panel was embossed with a cuttlebug die, wrapped in ribbon and then raised on pop dots. The flower centers are filled with jewels. Simple and to the point!

Hi Color Throwdown fans...I'm back with another great challenge. This weeks everyone on the team is featuring stamps and a cool new pinwheel die produced by our own Laura Pryor!!!

Here are this week's colors...

and here is my card...

I used some two sided paper that I've had forever!! The pinwheel center is a clear SU! button with twine tied in the center. The tag is a Martha Stewart tag. I finished things off with a jewel and a spiral clip from an office supply store.

Check out Laura's tutorial on how to use this awesome pinwheel die. A must have for your collection!!!

Color Throwdown #137

Hi there - welcome back to another Color Throwdown color challenge. It's my week to host and these are the colors I chose...fun, bright, springy colors...

and here is my card using a new image by DRS Designs...

The focal point, the spring wording square is the new image. You can see all the great new releases HERE. How do you like the background? Pretty cool huh? It's actually this flower border, stamped 3 times as close as I could without overlapping. After stamping, I colored the image and then cut out along the edges. I used a small craft knife to get to the inside areas. The panel is raised on pop dots. I added some ribbon, of course, and a button and jewels to finish things off.

Caught a Bug?

That seems to be a common question around here these days! It seems as though everyone I know is or has been sick!!! Here's a card that's sure to brighten anyones day...

Two of the images on this card, the background branch and sentiment are brandy spanking new images by DRS!!! Be sure to check them all out. The ladybug is from the ladybug edger stamp. Have you checked those out? Two stamps in one - can't beat a deal like that!!

I stamped the branch on my focal panel and then again on a scrap. I cut the image on the scrap out and adhered it with pop dots. Both images and the ladybug were colored with copic markers. The lady bug is raised on a pop dot too. I stamped the new polka dot background in versamark ink on the red panel. Some jewels and a hand drawn border finished things off.

Earthy Bouquet

I have another awesome image for you from DRS Designs' latest release. This daisy basket is such a pretty image. I was so excited to get it inky that I decided to make a card that I didn't have to color.

I thought the argyle embossing folder was a great match for the basket. I added the three butterflies image from this release as well. I stamped them and then cut each butterfly out. Can you see the one perched on one of the flowers? The butterfly image will be great as a trio or split up. So many possiblities. Some twill ribbon, buttons and jewels finished things off.

The next time you see this image...expect some color!!!!!

DRS Designs just released a whole bunch of great new images. You will find three on my card here today. I love the new dots background stamp...I bet it will look great with the swiss dots embossing folder. I'm loving the new flower image...I bet it will look awesome colored in. I took the easy way out with this card by stamping it on colored cardstock and just cutting it out. The new welcome sentiment fit perfectly.

I was going for a lilly pad look...did I acheive it? I used a paper flower by Making Memories under my focal image and a giga scallop punch under that. An extra large pop dots pops the focal image off the flower. A fiskars border punch is below the ribbon. I used my favorite swiss dots embossing folder for the main layer.

We're getting closer to warmer weather so I thought these cute bees would be perfect for today's Color Throwdown color challenge...

These were fun colors for these images. The happy bee and the bee-cause sentiment are perfect together. My favorite swiss dots embossing folder, some wide twill ribbon and some yellow dew drops tied it all together. The yellow paper is shimmery and embossed with another fun cuttlebug folder.

Color Throwdown #134

Hi Everyone...welcome back to another Color Throwdown color challenge. This week our challenge is sponsored by Purple Onion Designs. Here are this week's colors...

and here is my card...

I used last week's sketch challenge on SCS for my sketch inspiration. The embossed white panel is shimmery thanks to a versark shimmer pad that I rubbed on my embossing folder before embossing. The felt flowers are by American Crafts. I added some pewter brads to the flower centers. I added a small scalloped circle punch to the center of the scalloped stamp. The dot on the 'i' in hi and the question mark dot are each covered with a clear jewel. These are nice stamps...they come as unmounted rubber and delivery was super quick!!

I chose the fun doggie dilemma image for my focal point. The sentiment seemed perfect! I used a cuttlebug embossing folder behind the image. I tied some twine with small stick around the focal panel.

Something new to stamp on!

Hi There...have you checked out the newest addition to the DRS Designs online store? They have these nifty bags for sale now! If you are a long time online/catalog/Rubber Mania Monthly customer, you already know about these bags, because you used to receive some of your stamp purchases in them. Well, DRS has decided to sell these bags for you to get crafty with. I thought I would show you a creative idea on how you can use those bags.

I used the new celtic knot image on my project...

I stamped the image in forest green staz-on ink. I added a button and jewel in the button center. I added green ribbon in the same "channel" as the pull string that came with the bag. Some beads dressed up the ribbon ends. The bag is filled with lucky gold coins, just in time for St. Patricks Day festivities!!!

Hi Everyone...welcome back to another installment of the Color Throwdown color challenge!!!

I have to admit, these colors were a little tough for me! I kept the card simple...my only stamp is my sentiment. This is a new release by DRS Designs, just in time for Easter! I just love this cuttlebug embossing folder - very versatile. I had to give my new Martha Stewart punch another try. (next week I'l use something else, promise!!) And...did you notice my touch of nature on the card? Yup, thats a stick that the prima flowers are adhered to. I adhered the stick with crystal effects, as well as the flowers.

Here is the North East its a bit dreary and wet. Some of us are close to floating away with all this rain we've ben having!!! I thought a cheery spring card would be in order on a day like today.

Welcome back to another Color Throwdown Color Challenge!!! Check out this week's fabulous colors...just in time to get you ready for some spring stamping!!!

I thought these colors would make a great Easter card. I used two new releases by DRS Designs. The new blooming Easter greeting was perfect with the new Martha Stewart flower punch. This punch is different...not sure about it yet! It is supposed to emboss and punch but you must have to have super human strength to get it to emboss!!! Here is a close up shot of the layered flower...

I stamped the new spring flower suncatcher on the light blue panel in light blue ink. Such a springy, pretty image. A fancy border punch, some jewels and ribbon finished things off.

Here is my card for the challenge...

I used the celtic knot recently released by DRS for my card, along with one of their great new sentiments from the same recent release of images. These colors were tough so I kept my card simple. I added jewels in the color challenge colors to the center of the knots. I used a cuttlebug embossing folder for the card front.

Blast into spring...

With a blast from the past post!! I thought I would share a post from March 2009...a cute card with some fun DRS Designs images.

Yes, it is starting to feel a little bit like Spring here in Connecticut. The grass is getting greener, the crocus' are up and we hit 50 degrees yesterday! Balmy!!!! So, with Spring comes thoughts of Easter, bunnies and birthdays!!

Do you make plain ol' birthday cards or do you make themed cards to go with the time of year the birthday occurs in? I guess I do a little bit of both depending on time. This card however is a quick seasonal birthday card that you can whip up in no time!!!

This was a fun card to make. The sentiment is a recent release and could be used for all kinds of "hoppy" birthdays...bunnies, frogs, little boys, you name it! I stamped the bunny tracks in versamark all over the kraft panel and then I stamped them again in black on white shrink plastic, cut them out and baked them.

Here is a close up shot of the bunny feet:

Aren't they cute?! The scallops were stamped with the scallop frames according the size of the scallop punch. I used the triple teardrop giga scallop circle and the giga scallop oval. The sentiment was colored with markers and I added a few jewels, ribbon, linen thread and some stitching with my machine to finish things off!

I hope this inspires you to Think Spring and get a jump on your Spring birthday cards!!!

Isn't this big bunny face image the cutest? He's one of the newest releases by DRS. I stamped the lower right corner of the focal image with the new Happy Easter sentiment. I used a cuttlebug embossing folder on the white panel. The bunnys bow is a satin ribbon and the felt flower has a pink brad for a flower center.

Happy Birthday Tammy!!

Today is my good stamping friend Tammy Hershbergers birthday!!!!!! In honor of Tammy, myself and a "few" other stamping friends got together and put together a little blog hop!!! Barbara Anders was in charge and you can start the hop from the beginning by visiting her blog. I decided to use this cute little Pure Innocence girl from My Favorite Things for my card.

The dp is from Die Cuts with a View...Butterflies and Blossoms pack from last year. I colored the girl with copics and added some crystal effects to her balloon. I also used the sketch from MFT that was issued last Wed. The tag is by Martha Stewart, the focal die by Sizzix. I drew in the grass. The ribbon is from some packaging I rec'd...couldn't tell you when or where!!! It was one of those "stash" items!

Spring...please hurry!

After stamping up this card with springy colors, I am definitely ready for Spring to come!!! Rain and some frozen stuff is in the upcomiong forecast though. Oh well, in the meantime I will just have to stamp with spring like images and colors! This bunny face is a new release from DRS Designs...

The sentiment is a new release as well. One of my favorite and most versatile images by DRS Designs is the fun grass stamp that I used on the bottom. A swirl cuttlebug embossing folder dressed it up a bit. The ribbon is from Michaels from a couple of years ago...I'm just getting around to using it now. Oops!! Some jewels, a button, twine and a fun clip finished things off. The layout on this card was inspired by a card I saw in the recent issue of Paper Crafts magazine.

Another clean and simple card! I used the new Martha Stewart punch anywhere punch for the fancy squares. I used the floral embossing folder to dress them up a little. The card base was embossed with the same folder. I added a vellum butterfly to each square. The sentiment is a new release by DRS Designs. A border punch, ribbon and some jewels finished things off.

DRS Designs just released a whole bunch of great St. Patricks Day images. I used three of those images on this clean and simple irish card!!

I stamped half of the celtic knot image as an outside border on the top and bottom of my card. The shamrock circle fits perfectly inside a giga scallop punch and the sentiment was a perfect fit for a Martha Stewart tag. Some ribbon from the dollar section at Michaels and some brads and jewels finished things off!

Isn't this new Paddy Bear image from DRS Designs the cutest? He certainly looks like one of kind amongst all the other drab bears behind him!!! Hence the sentiment (DRS has one for just about everything under the sun!)...You stand out in a crowd!

Another clean and simple card. I used the swiss dots embossing folder on the white panel. The background bears were stamped in brown on kraft paper and Paddy Bear was stamped on white and colored with Copic Markers. Some jewels and a ribbon finished things off!

sometimes you just need to have a little! Hi There, welcome back to another Wednesday, middle of the week, (yay) Color
Throwdown post with me! Well, we're already half way through February...spring really is just around the corner! I have a somewhat springy card for you today...another clean and simple one! I was the host over on CTD today and these are the colors I chose...

and here is my card...image by DRS Designs...

This is such a pretty new sentiment by DRS, I just had to make it the focal image of my card. Some prima flowers, jewels, a ribbon and some Michaels bridal flowers (for leaves) finished things off. I used an embossing folder for my white panel which was adhered to the card base with pop dots.

This was a fun, quick and easy card. When you're busy, that's the best kind!!! Clean, simple and just a bit elegant if I do say so myself!!!

Green Beer? Yummy!

I know, I know, it's Valentines Day but if you dont have your cards made yet...you're in trouble!!! ;) So, I have a St. Patricks Day card for you instead. The most recent release of images by DRS Designs included St. Patricks and Easter images. This sentiment was part of the new release...the large beer mug is a current image and one of my personal favorites.

I seem to be a on white kick lately...as you will see in some future cards. Guess I just like the clean, uncluttered feeling. My card base is white and then my panel over that is also white and raised on pop dots. I used a new Martha Stewart punch for the tab. It's a fancy square folded in half. The new punches she has released allow you to punch anywhere on the page, great for window cards. I added a smaller sentiment to the tab. A corner rounder finished off the focal image panel.

Easter Means Spring!

I think we could all use a little spring right now! We've enough snow here in CT to last us for a few years! I wouldnt be surprised if what we have on the ground now is still here when it comes time for Memorial Day!!! Here is an image that is sure to start you thinking about Spring though...this is from the latest release by DRS Designs, available now.

This spring flower suncatcher image is so pretty and offers alot of options of how to use it. I chose to cut out the center circle this time around and mounted the image on black. I added a jewel butterfly and made a trail with a white gel pen.

I embossed half of the card front with the swiss dots embossing folder. Some jewels and ribbon finished things off. The new Happy Easter sentiment fits nicely in the SU! word window punch.

This girl swirl heart is such a fun image. I added some teardrop jewels on the teardrops in the image. The black panel is dry embossed with the same folder as the purple circle. A border punch, some piercing and jewels finished things off.

I know we still have a couple of weeks until Valentines Day, but DRS Designs just released a whole bunch of great St. Patricks Day and Easter images that you do not want to miss out on.

The shamrock wreath was stamped in green and then punched from a giga scallop punch. A green circle frames it. I love the font on the new sentiment.

A chocolate coin in the wreath center and some twill ribbon and kitchen twine tied into a bow finish things off.

I stamped the new woven plaid stamp from the last release of images on a swatch of fabric that I picked up at Pottery Barn. It is stamped in brown and blue, although you can't really see the blue :(. I used the argyle embossing folder, distressing all cardstock layer edges. A felt ribbon, a tab stamped with "warm wishes" and some buttons, finished things off.

Top O' The Morning!!

Hi There - The winter weather has taken over here in CT and the days got away from me, but hopefully I can get back on a regular posting schedule!!

Today I have a few new release images for you by DRS Designs...

Lucky Larry Leprechaun is wishing you a "top o' the morning", with a candy treat!! The background was stamped repeatedly with the new celtic knot image. The image is a single knot and I staggered it up and down the card front. A strip of ribbon and some jewels finished things off.

Color Throwdown #126

Hi There!!! Me again! Hope you had a good week since we met up last. I have a pair of simple cards for you today. I think every once in while we all need to step back and just go with the easy approach. I know its hard not to use all the wonderful supplies out there, but sometimes you just need to let your stamped images do the talking. These cards are also for this weeks Color Throwdown color challenge.

These are this week's colors:

I used the same three flowers with butterfly image on these cards...changing up the sentiments based on the occasion for which the card is being sent.

Both of these cards will be put to use :(. Sometimes its great to make up a bunch of simple cards like this so you have them ready to go when you need them. The flowers on both are raised on pop dots. The butterfly was stamped on the card and then on a scrap and adhered with a pop dot.

Warm Wishes...

or maybe I should say warm thoughts!!!! I've about had it with this winter weather we've been having in CT. I don't think the kids have had a full week of school since before the holidays! I have a simple card to share with you today using two of the most recent releases by DRS Designs.

I stamped the new snowman in a box on white deckle punched square and adhered it to the card with a pop dot. The warm wishes sentiment is stamped in black. Some turquoise ribbon and a few matching jewels finished things off. I also added some stardust pen in the snow circles within the box image.

I love this new sentiment that was just released by DRS Designs. It's great not only for Valentines, but for anniversary or even a card for a child. This card also covers the challenge over on the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog that DRS Designs is sponsoring this week. The challenge is to use metal on your card. My metal is the star attached to the ribbon. The paper flower is from a big K & Co. pad. Tons of punch out flowers in all colors, shapes and sizes. I found it at Target. I used one of the new Cuttlebug embossing folders on the kraft panel.

Are you a fan of Valentines Day? Some people are and some people aren't!! I know one little guy that's a fan though...

Isn't he just the cutest thing?!

I thought this new sentiment was perfect with this Sweet Offering Cutie Pie kid. I kept the card very simple. The boy was stamped twice, I popped his head on a pop dot along with the rose bud which is just a little bit outside of the "box" so to speak. A Cuttlebug embossing border with jewel, a border punch and the heart folder embossed on the black strip, and I was done! Image was colored with Copic markers. (I drew the grass in myself, but DRS has an awesome grass background stamp that would do the job just as well.)

Don't you just love this new Cupig image by DRS?! How cute and fun...the sentiment is a perfect addition. I used the new filigree heart on the blue panel as a background image. A couple of embossing folders and a jewel completed the look. Oh, and I can't forget Cupigs wings. I stamped Cupig twice and cut out a separate set of wings, added some glitter and then added them to the card with pop dots.

Filigree Heart....I Love You...

I really do love this new filgree heart image by DRS Designs...

I stamped the same heart on the black squares in white ink. The new I Love You sentiment completes the card.

Candle Pail...All Aglow...

Well, not really aglow, but you get the idea...and it's a catchy title...no?

I thought I would share an "altered project" with you today. This week DRS Designs is sponsoring a challenge over on the Top Tip Tuesday blog. Head on over and check them out...you could win some stamping money from some DRS Designs stamps!!! Thats my kind of prize!

and a view of the tag...

I stamped the filigree heart on vellum and colored the back with a red copic marker. I then colored the little tear drops with my Sakura stardust pen.

The tag was stamped with the same image as you can see, in its entirety. I added a tag with the new I Love You sentiment. The pail came from the Target $1 spot (not this year, but maybe they are available again?) I'm trying to stay away from there, so I really don't know. ;)

I tried to take a photo of the pail while it was lit...with a battery operated tealight, but it didn't work.

I hope you'll try out the challenge. I'm sure we all have some tins of some sort that are in need of altering!!!!

I stamped the triple tree with snow image in artichoke green and then stamped over the same image with Versamark dazzle ink for some shimmer. The new winter wording square was stamped on ivory shimmer paper in green stazon ink. I added a couple of pearls, one to the ribbon loop and one to the "i" in Winter and I was done!!

Let It Snow...

Well, not really! The snow from last week here in CT is finally starting to melt and since I don't want to have to pay the plow guy, again, I will be happy if it doesn't snow any more! These little penguins are thinking otherwise though...

I had some time to participate in a couple of the Splitcoast Stampers challenges yesterday...they are a great starting point if you are in need of inspiration. Here is my card for the color and sketch challenges. Isn't this new little penguin cute?!

I replaced his scarf with a scrap of ribbon that I colored with a Copic marker. The 4 in 1 flake background on the blue panel is very versatile...especially when it it paired up with the snowflake embossing folder. A new sentiment and some vellum flakes and jewels finish things off.

The holidays came and went so fast that I just didnt have time to share and/or make all the projects that came to mind for all the great DRS images, new and old. So here is one last one...if you're in the Northeast and buried under all the snow we got this weekend, it might be a great time to get caught up on some projects for next years holiday season. Trust me, next year, you will be so glad to find some things done...especially if they are useful, like tags...

This new Santa face image is perfect for holiday tags. A circle punch and a scallop punch make this a quick and easy project. I stamped the scallop punch with the flake mega scallop image. If you want to take your project a step further, use a small embossing folder to emboss the inner circle, color with markers and add some white flock to Santas pom pom.

For this project, I stamped a new greeting on the back of the tag, but you could always do the usual to/from.

I chose to make this tag part of a card, but you could always make a baggie full of tags and stash them for next year. I find it relaxing to do multiples of things sometimes. You can sit in front of the TV and use your punches or watch the kids play in the snow while you color.

I hope Santa was good to you this year. Be sure to keep checking back because very soon you will start seeing peeks of soon to be released images. What better way to start off your year than expecting a package from DRS Designs full of great new images for all your papercrafting needs!!!

We're snowed in here in CT so I thought I would share a "heart" warming card with you, using an image that a friend sent to me for the holiday. These Pure Innocence images by My Favorite Things are just the cutest, in my opinion. I love to color and paper piece them...

This card was taking on an entirely different look, but after I cut the hearts from felt (sizzix) and they fell on the card in just the places I adhered them, I knew I had to scrap the other idea and go with this one. Maybe I'll find time to make my other card, but I just couldn't wait to share this one with you. The little girl is colored with copic markers and her dress is paper pieced with Daisy Bucket patterned paper. I adhered her with pop dots and used embroidery floss around the edges of the hearts. I also brushed some close to cocoa ink around the edges of the card to soften them a bit.

A simple card, with alot to say.

Tangled Tinsel!

Is your tinsel in a tangle yet, as the holiday quickly approaches? I just love this new sentiment by DRS Designs. How could you not?! This was a quick and easy card thanks to this great sentiment and some fun ribbon.

I simply embossed the card with a cuttlebug embossing folder. Some red mirror paper across the middle covers the line since I only embossed half of the card front. I tied the ribbon around one of the focal panels and then simply adhered a few of the ribbon circles to achieve the "tangled" look!! Of course, I had to add a few jewels for good measure!

...the candy canes on my card that is!!! What a great image and sentiment to play with this holiday season. DRS Designs has done it again. I had alot of fun coloring this candy cane image with my Copic markers and cutting it out (so easy) and adhering it with pop dots. I even got to use the markers on the sentiment!

Some candy cane ribbon mixed with green and a candy cane charm finished things off. Oh, and I can't forget a touch of stardust pen on the ribbon in the image. What would I do without my stardust pen, pop dots and jewels!!! ;)

Retro Christmas

I hope your holiday preparations are well under way and things are going as planned. Mine are a little slow this year due to all the change in my life but as old traditions pass, new ones take their place! I'm happy to say that although I'm a little behind this year, I'm still enjoying every bit of this season.

I have a "retro" card for you today...I'm not really a retro kind of girl, I like the country look much better but sometimes you need to break out of the norm. I used two of DRS's newest images...

I'm in love with this new shooting star image and I thought the sentiment was "simply" perfect! I used a cuttlebug embossing folder on the side and a Making Memories charm is tied to the ribbon with silver cord. As an after thought, after I took the photo, I found a teeny tiny star jewel that I glued to the star in the sentiment. I'm a little tired after last nights work holiday party so retaking photos is not an option today ;). It's hard to tell in the photo, but the star was stamped a second time on silver mirror paper and cut out. I adhered it with a pop dot.

Card Patterns!

Today, I have a card using a sketch presented to you by Card Patterns. I thought this was a fun sketch and here is my card. I used my favorite DRS Designs images on this card. DRS is sponsoring the Card Patterns challenge this week so be sure to head on over for your chance to win a prize!!!

I just love this skate image. I mounted them on what is supposed to look like a door. I dry embossed it and then stamped in chocolate ink with the textured background stamp. The red panel is stamped with snowflakes. I highlighted the centers of each flake with a Stardust pen. I used some felt ribbon that I found at Michaels..love it!!! I stamped the skates twice, cut one skate out separately and mounted on a pop dot. The laces were "laced" with red/white kitchen twine.

Here is my card for the challenge and the slide...images by DRS Designs...

I just love this new shooting star image. I stamped it directly on the card and then again on scraps of the blues in the challenge. I stitched around the border line on the star with embroidery floss. I used one of the new sentiments from this release. A punched oval, a punched scallop oval and a sizzix label die and I had my focal point! Some jewels along with some stardust pen highlights on the star streams, and I was done, almost! I just had to add some ribbon and when I found a star button in my stash, I knew it would be perfect.

They've Done It Again!

DRS Designs has done it again! They have released another great batch of holiday images. Be sure to check out all of them at their website (you can now order online!) and check out the other DT member projects. (I still need to update my side bar, so for an accurate list of designers, please visit the DRS blog.) Don't forget, Wednesday, Dec. 1st is the fun DRS Designs blog slide. Slide along for your chance to win some fun DRS Designs stamps!

In the meantime, I thought I would share my first creation using these awesome new images...

and the inside...

I love this new Slient Night sheet music image. I stamped the image in white brilliance ink to the right side of the card. I stamped the holly image on white paper with black ink, colored the image, cut it out and adhered it to the card with pop dots. I saw a tutorial on Splitcoast for a lace flower and just had to try it out. Some ribbon, bakery twine and a couple of buttons finished things off. The lower portion of the card was punched with a border punch. When the card is closed, the inner panel of white shows through. One of the new release sentiments completes the inside of the card.

Did You Survive?

Happy Belated Thanksgiving to everyone!!! I hope you had happy, healthy and safe holidays. I have one last "fallish" card for you today and then starting tomorrow (or Monday ;)),bring on the holiday cards!!!!!

The focal image on this card is one of the latest releases by DRS Designs. Be sure to stay tuned though because this week they are releasing their latest round of holiday designs just in time for your holiday card making. You can even join in on a fun blog slide on Wednesday, Dec. 1 and you might even win some of the new designs...how cool is that?!

Ok, back to my card...isn't it fun? This little boy was stamped three times...once on the main panel and then two more times. I cut the other two out, colored one and mounted both on top of the main panel so you get the total effect of him jumping into the leaves. The leaves were stamped twice, popped once!

I thought it would be a fun birthday card for a little boy. I used a cuttlebug birthday embossing folder on the red panel and stamped the blue in versamark with the DRS birthday multi greeting stamp. Some fun ribbon and buttons finished things off.

Happy Wednesday!! Are you ready for Thanksgiving? Well, if you are OR if you are lucky enough to be a guest somewhere and have time, head on over to the Color Throwdown color challenge blog and try your hand with this week's pretty color combo...

Here is my card for the challenge, images by DRS Designs...

Yet another pretty image from the latest release by DRS. I know they are sunflowers, but I thought I would change things up a little bit ;). Again, the image was colored with sharpie markers. I used some glittery ribbon and a jewel brad on the folded portion of the ribbon. Some tiny jewels and accents with a Sakura stardust pen finished things off.

Brilliant Fall

Hi There - I hope you are having a brilliant fall so far. DRS came out with some knockout images for their most recent release. I think this leaf image is one of my favorites...I see this image as being very vesatile. Here's one way to use it...in colorful fashion!

I used the image to stamp a background on the long panel and then used the image, along with a new fall sentiment as my focal panel. The leaves were colored with sharpie markers and the focal image life was detailed with a Sakura stardust pen. I added a silk leaf as a fun embellishment. The kraft panel was dry embossed with the cuttlebug swirl background.

It's That Time of Year...

again! Can you believe the holidays are here already?! I know I can't. This past year has flown by. Seeing that Thanksgiving is less than a week away, I thought I would share a turkey card with you! DRS has cooked up some awesome Thanksgiving/Fall designs this year and this card sports two of those images.

I kept this design pretty simple. I stamped the sentiment in versamark ink on my kraft panel. The turkey was stamped on white, colored with sharpies and then cut out, twice and mounted on pop dots. I used kitchen string for the ties on the turkey legs. A fiskars border punch, some ribbon, a button and some jewels finished things off.

I just love the latest releases by DRS...have you checked them out yet? They definitely bring meaning to "festive Fall". On this card I used the large scarecrow image along with a new fall sentiment. I stamped a few of the words and used my SU! word window punch to punch them out. The brown background was embossed using the Cuttlebug argyle embossing folder. The cute scarecrow (with button eyes) was colored with sharpie markers. Some ribbon, buttons and twine finished things off.

Is Anyone Still Out There?

Hi There....Guess What?! I'm back!!!! Yes, after an 8 month break and some changes in my life, I'm back to stamping and papercrafting! I dont have any projects to share with you yet, but I will soon. I've had some requests to show some photos of my new studio (I have a place of my own now and I created a studio for myself).

Yes, its alot of cabinets and general storage and yes, all of them are full!!! It's not quite finished yet...I still have to have countertops installed and the cabinets mounted about the heater, but it's good enough to break out my rubber, ink pads and markers!!!

My mission is to now, use everything that I have!!! Be sure to check back again soon and travel along with me on my mission of using everything!!! I have some great new images from DRS Designs that I can't wait to share with you.

Hi There - Welcome back to the 85th installment of the Color Throwdown color challenge. I am the host of the challenge today and these are the colors I have chosen...

This little girl from the Cutie Pie Kid collection is such a great image. I decided to paper piece her dress but you could easily just color it in. The sentiment was one of a few that I thought would be perfect. I used my new Fiskars border punch and added some jewels and Michaels bridal flowers to finish things off.

It is with sadness that this is my last Color Throwdown challenge for a while. I have decided to take a break as life has just gotten in the way lately of my stamping! I hope you will continue to participate in these awesome challenges.

This new jelly bunny bean image is just the cutest...don't you agree? I just love it. I kept the bunny simple by just outlining the bunny with markers and then piercing around the focal panel. I used an Ornare piercing template for the flower and then punched a hole in each of the punched flower border centers.

Tomorrow is the big day...another new image release by DRS Designs!!! Here is a simple card using one of the new images...

I added a gold foil covered chocolate coin as my focal image!!! I stamped the sentiment on a scrap so that I could color the shamrocks without them leaking thru my cardstock. A few paper piercings and some score lines and ribbon/cord finished things off.

This pretty sentiment is from the latest release of images. The bloomin huge flower image is one of my favorites...I cut it in half as you can see!!! There is a burgundy outline on the outside edge of the flower petals and rust inside.

Be sure to check back later in the week as I start to saw you peeks at the newest release by DRS that will be available starting this Saturday, 2/20/10.

of the winter weather around here!! But I do like it when we get out of work early because of the winter weather!!! Since I had a few extra hours today, I decided to get some stamping "work" done!!!

I got to play in today's color challenge on SCS...

Two more new release images by DRS Designs!! These images will be available this coming Saturday! Be sure to head on over to the DRS Designs blog...they have a contest going on and you might just win yourself some or all of the new release images!!

For this card, I stamped the focal image twice and cut just the flowers our and adhered them with pop dots. The lower portion of the card was embossed with the script cuttlebug embossing folder.

now that Valentines Day is over, it's time to move on to St. Patricks Day!!! Today's technique challenge over on SCS was the perfect opportunity!! This coming Saturday, DRS Designs will be debuting a whole new release of images...here is a sneak peek!!! You can check out another sneak peek on the DRS Designs blog and possibly on some of the DT blogs. Stay tuned for more as the week goes on!!

I was lucky enough to find some bags of gold foil covered coins at the grocery store. I tucked some in the inside pocket of the holder.

Welcome back to another Color Throwdown color challenge...here are this week's colors...

For this card I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for my background and just stamped a portion of this Valentine heart image on my focal circle. I used the last line of this greeting for the sentiment and a whole bunch of primas and brads finished things off.

The new Valentine images by DRS Designs are so much fun AND so much fun to color! I've always loved to color and this three happy hearts image was a perfect image to color while relaxing and watching tv last night!!

I stamped the image several times in a staggered fashion and then simply colored! I used the last line of this new Valentine greeting as my sentiment on the card front. Some ribbon from Walmart, a button, faux stitching and googlie eyes finished things off.
