Productive Saturday!

Well, summer has begun!!! It is HOT here today and dd's went in their slip 'n slide!! The whole time making their wishes that they had a pool loud and clear!!! I ran off to Michaels to escape the pleading (DH is much better at dealing with that than me!!) and found some new clear stamps and a few other things of course!! Once I returned home a friend was over to play so I escaped to my workshop...

First I made this framed piece:

I've always wanted something like this but have never purchased one...my inspiration came from the County Door catalog I rec'd last week. They had an item for sale that was made with similar paper so I "cased" it!!! I added some scrap ribbon that I pulled off the anniversary card my MIL sent us (is that a bad thing?!)! I wish I had a frame that fit the 6x6 piece perfectly like in the catalog but I don't...this is a Target frame from last year - I figured I should use something from my ever-growing stash.

I also got to play with my new Amuse stamps AND some of the new clear sets I found at Michaels today!

My brother b-day is coming up this week so I decided to make him a card:

Ellie is balancing a $1 set gift on her trunk and holding a $1 set balloon in her tail. Everything is colored with markers and the balloon has dazzling diamonds on it. I layered an oval scallop punch in between my circle scallops and pierced and outlined with my white gel pen. The sentiment is snap stamps on my SU! word window punch. The oval on this one is left over stamp rubber cut with my oval bookplate sizzix die (it is the inside remnant of the bookplate).

And then I made a card to hold a check for a troop leader gift for girl scouts...I figured I would enclose the check in a card and enclose a quick thank you note to the women who was gracious enough to accept the challenge of one gathering the funds and two actually thinking up a good gift!

For some reason I had a hard time getting a clear pic - could it be b/c the card is all white? Who knows?! Anywho...I stamped my Amuse tree and oval and then colored in with markers. The sentiment is from a Michaels clear $1 set. I combined stamps from a few different sets and I used a black eyelet for the tree swing -fun!! Added some ribbon to brighten it up and done!

Don't forget about the blog candy giveaway if you have not already made a comment!!

See you soon...
