ArtfulINKables Saturday

Hi There - another week has flown by and here we are at ArtfulINKables Saturday. I'm sad to say that this will be my last AI Saturday post. My DT term with AI has come to an end. I'd like to thank Kristin for allowing me to work with her stamps. She is a wonderful artist and the team was an awesome one to be on. The new team has some pretty terrific stampers on it as well so I hope you will continue to vist the AI blog and check out Kristins new designs on a monthly basis!

So...here is my final project...a baby undershirt using the Post A Note set...

(My model is dd's stuffed build a bear turtle. She was the perfect size!!!)

This is a very easy and quick project. I simply washed the shirt and dried it. I used Fabrico fabric ink to stamp the flowers across the front and the xoxo underneath. I gave them a quick once over with my heat gun to make sure the ink was dry and then colored with my Bic Markers (alcohol based). I know babies shouldn't have tiny beads on their clothes but I couldn't resist finishing the flower centers off with seed beads.

So, there you have it...a quick and easy "personalized" baby gift!

Thanks for stopping by and best of luck to Kristin and her new team!
See you soon...

ArtfulINKables Saturday

Welcome back to another ArtfulINKables Saturday...I have a cheery card for you today! Everyone loves happy mail, right? These images are from the Post a Note set...

The bird is the only image that was colored on this card. I used patterned paper, which I rarely do, and stamped the flowers on a solid pink. I highlighted the centers with a white gel pen and added some jewels. Easy peasy!

Have a great summer weekend...

ArtfulINKables Saturday

Hi There - Welcome back to another ArtfulINKables Saturday! I have a non-card project for you today! An altered pad cover thingamabobbie!!

Images by AI, A Friendly Light (one of the newest releases!)

I simply took a long note pad (one designed to stick on your fridge) laid it down on my paper and scored where I wanted the folds to be. I then trimmed the edges and embellished the front. It's a simple project and came together pretty quickly using such a great set. I stamped the shell border in chocolate chip ink. The focal image was stamped on white paper and colored with alcohol markers. I distressed the edges with an edge distresser and some close to cocoa ink. I also used on of the EK Success border punches on the side. Some twill ribbon, gingham ribbon and a large button finished things off. I made two simple ties out of twine to keep the covers together when the pad is not being used.

Thanks for checking in...

ArtfulINKables Blog Hop!!

second post for today...please scroll down for my Color Throwdown post...

Welcome to your next stop on the ArtfulINKables blog hop! If you arrived from Elena's blog, you're in the right place...if you want to start from the beginning, head on over to Kristen's blog and make your way back. Since it's summer and Kristin has been super busy, there is no new release for July so the team to decided to do a blast from the past blog hop! Meaning, we're showing you some sets that were released recently and not so recently. Have you seen all the sets that Kristin has available?!!! Plenty to choose from...make sure when you're done with the hop you go take a look!

For this hop I decided to use the Hybiscus set... a set of two stamps...a flower and a leaf. I made an invite, thank you and favor set...I also used the basic sentiments set.

Images by ArtfulINKables...

The favor is made from a clear acrylic block (that you would put your stamps on!). I found them at the Target $1 spot. I stamped the flower on cardstock, matted it with black and then adhered it to the back of the block with crystal effects. I then added two sided tape to the outer edges and added some seed beads and dazzling diamonds. It can be used as a paper weight or just adhere a magnet dot and it's ready for your fridge or file cabinet!

Thanks for checking in on my stop of the hop...head on over to Velta's blog for your next stop on the inspiration trail!

See you soon...

ArtfulINKables Saturday

Hi There - I hope you have recovered from last weekend's holiday!! I'm back with a card from a release that took place earlier this year at ArtfulINKables, Bouquets and Butterflies...

Another clean and simple card (CAS)! I stamped the focal images in white brilliance ink (a craft ink that dries really fast!). The sentiment was stamped on the card base. Some ribbon and jewels finished things off!

This was also my card for the AI card swap that took place recently. I realized that I may not have put my name on the cards so...if you rec'd this one in the swap...it's from me!!

Thanks for checking in...
See you tomorrow for my DRS Designs Sunday blog post!

ArtfulINKables Saturday...

Happy 4th of July!! Thanks for checking in on your holiday weekend! I have a beachy card to share with you on this summer day...images are from the newly released A Friendly Light set by ArtfulINKables...

I just can't seem to stop using kraft paper with this set!!! I simply stamped the shells and sentiment in chocolate chip ink. The bird stamped behind the sentiment was stamped in versamark ink. Some twine wrapped around the corner and distressing on the bottom edge finished things off.

I hope you have a great holiday...

ArtfulINKables Saturday...

Hi There - I have a quick post for you today...I wanted to share a quick card using the Post a Note set by ArtfulINKables...

I simply adhered all the sentiments on my acrylic block and stamped repeatedly on my scrap of white. I stamped the envelope, matted it on a scrap of black. I stamped the image again in red and cut out and adhered just the heart. Some ribbon finished things off.

ArtfulINKables Saturday

Hi There - hope your weekend is off to a good start. Looks like we might need to build an ark here in CT very soon if this rain doesn't stop! Not the way I would like to start my summer but what can you do?

Well, you can make cards for one!!! I have a quick and easy "card" for you today...a gift card holder. Stay tuned...in a week or two there will be a tutorial for this project on the ArtfulINKables blog!

Images by ArtfulINKables...from the Rodeo Rodent set...

This holder is quick and easy and only uses half a sheet of cardstock. It can be for any occasion...just change up your colors and stamp set. I chose a simple congratulations sentiment from the basic sentiments set, also by AI. The gift card/cash/check simply slides into the pocket formed by the brads.

Thanks for checking in...I'll be back tomorrow with my Sunday post on the DRS Designs blog.

See you soon...

Hopping with ArtfulINKables

Welcome to a new blog hop with ArtfulINKables!! If you arrived here from Velta's blog you are on the right track. If not, start the hop at Kristin's blog (you don't want to miss anything!) and make your way back to me!! Kristin is releasing 3 new sets today. Two sets based on the hit Twilight series and this one that I'm showing you today...A Friendly Light...

Such a pretty set consisting of three images and three sentiments. Such an easy set to use! I kept this one simple so you could see just how pretty this lighthouse image is. I simply stamped the focal image in chocolate ink on watercolor paper and then stamped the shells and birds on the kraft cardstock in versamark ink. I added some shells with Crystal Effects and some twill ribbon with a large copper brad.

If you're wondering about blog candy...because what is a hop without it, right? Kristin will be choosing a random winner from ALL of the comments left on the assorted DT blogs throughout the hop!! The more comments you leave, the more chances to win!!!

Ok, your next stop on the hop is Elena's blog. Thanks for joining us...be sure to stop back here tomorrow for ArtfulINKables Saturday!!

ArtfulINKables Saturday

Happy Weekend everyone! Welcome back to ArtfulINKables Saturday!! I have a card for you today using Music in my Heart. Isn't this little girl cute listening to her Ipod?! DD thought it was her!!!

I used one of my favorite color combos on this card!! The flower punches are EK Success and the leaf punches are Martha Stewart. I added some jewels to the centers. The image was colored with Dick Blick alcohol markers. Similar to the Bics and Copics...more color variety than the Bics but less than the Copics and much less expensive than the Copics.

See the ribbon tab? That is awesome May Arts ribbon that is available through the ArtfulINKables online store. The sentiment is stamped in black and is included in the set.

Thanks for checking in...check back tomorrow for my DRS Designs Blog Sunday post and then again on Monday for the start of another DRS Designs challenge!

ArtfulINKables Saturday

Happy Weekend everyone! I'm back with another ArtfulINKables Saturday! Be sure to check out the store as Kristin is having a sale!

I have a card for you today using the new set Music in my Heart!

Isn't he the cutest playing his guitar? I think he kind of looks like my DH...he plays bass in rock band so I guess I know who this card is going to!!! Did you catch on that the circle behind him is supposed to be a record? You remember those right?! I added some ribbon, an embossed red panel and some heart beads to finish things off.

Thanks for checking in...enjoy your weekend.

ArtfulINKables Saturday

Yeah, it's Saturday! We have a busy weekend full of track meets and soccer games ahead of us but I wanted to pop in a share an ArtfulINKables card with you using the new set Rodeo Rodent! Last week I shared some images other than Mr. Rodent but today he is front and center!!!

I stamped the cactus repeatedly on the kraft cardstock and colored. The 'here kitty' was also stamped repeatedly. Mr. Rodent was stamped colored and then I left his lasso with an out of the box look as I cut around it. After he was adhered to a piece of silver mirror paper, I glued some twine over the drawn lasso to give it an authentic look!! Thank goodness for quick drying Crystal Effects!!! To finish things off I added some twill ribbon (my favorite!!) and some silver star brads!

I hope you like my fun card!!!

Thanks for checking in...enjoy your weekend...I'll be back tomorrow!!!

ArtfulINKables Saturday

Have you checked out the four new sets that ArtfulINKables released this week? Well, what are you waiting for ?! Earlier this week I shared a card using Rodeo Rodent and today I'm sharing a project using Music in my Heart. A set of 8 stamps. Four images and four sentiments.

Images by ArtfulINKables...

My dd's are the age where they love their music. Sometimes they even make their own CD's so I thought this would be a perfect project and of course the little girl image was just shouting to be used!

Here is a shot of the case open...

A while back, I found some predecorated adhesive CD labels on clearance at Target...this is one of them. I simply adhered the label to the disk and found a jewel case that would match. The girl was stamped on white cardstock, colored and cut out. I ran her through my Xyron and adhered her to the top of the label. the music notes were stamped in black stazon ink. I did the same thing with the dog/amp image, but that is adhered to the front of the case. I added some jewels for sparkle!! I filled in the empty area on the left with some cardstock and a sentiment from the set. I also wrote their to: from: info.

This was a fun, quick and inexpensive project. It would be great for party favors from a sleep over, etc...

Thanks for checking in...hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend. I'll be back tomorrow with my Sunday DRS Designs post!

ArtfulINKables Blog Hop...

I have two posts running current this morning...please scroll down to see my DRS Designs Blog Challenge post...

Welcome to another ArtfulINKables blog hop!!! Krtistin is releasing 4 more new sets today!! You'll find everything from boys, to music to a western theme in this fun release. If you stopped here first you might want to backtrack and visit Kristin for the first stop in the hop and hop your way back to me!!

My project for the hop is this fun card using images from Rodeo Rodent...a set of 8 fun images...

Since everyone else seems to be using the "rodent" himself, I decided to highlight some of the other images in the set! I simply stamped all the images in black on the kraft paper and colored just the cacti with my markers. I brushed some white craft ink along the edges of the base panel. Some brads and jewels on the star finished things off. Isn't the ribbon pretty? You can find this one and a ton of others along with some great charms in the AI store.

Thanks for stopping by, your next stop in the hop is Holly's blog...be sure to check all the DT blogs to find great inspiration for these four new sets!!

ArtfulINKables Saturday

Well, we made it through another week! This Saturday, I have another altered project for you featuring an ArtfulINKables image...the moon from the newly released Celestial Bodies set!

I apologize for the not so great photos but as you know some altered items are hard to get a good shot of!

I found these decorative plant stakes at Target (recently - unlike most of my altered items, I chose to use this one right away!!!) and if you hurry you might still be able to grab some from the dollar spot.

Here is a front shot...

and an inside, non-glare shot!

The stake comes with an empty center section so I decided to cut a piece of thick acetate like you would get in an embellishment package. I used my Creative Memories cutting system to cut the circle to the closest size. I then stamped the moon with black stazon ink, let it sit for a few minutes to make sure it was completely dry and then applied a layer of crystal effects within the outline of the image. After applying the CE, I covered it with gold, blue and green very fine glitter.

Here is a shot of the back...

Once I knew it was dry (a few hours later to be safe), I punched a hole in the top of the circle and added a very small jump ring for it to hang from. I could have added another ring on the bottom but I thought the swinging circle might be kind of neat!

A simple project...something to liven up a house plant...or maybe a plant on your screened in porch. I can't vouch for how weather resistant the CE and glitter might be!

I hope this gives you some inspiration to dig into your alterable stash!!

Thanks for stopping by...don't forget to check out my DRS Blog post tomorrow!

ArtfulINKables Saturday

Another weekend is upon us!! Spring has finally sprung here in CT...although we are hot having the summer temps we had last weekend, it is seasonable out. To celebrate the beautiful weather and Mother's Day which is quickly approaching, I decided to make a non card item using the new Bouquets & Butterflies set from ArtfulINKables.

I found an awesome website with every template you can imagine...Visit Mel HERE and see her awesome work! I used flocked paper that I found at Target over a year ago for my "vase". I simply inked the iris in celery ink, ran a garden green marker over the edges and then spritzed with water before stamping on my paper. I then inked my stamped with eggplant, stamped off and then ran the eggplant marker around the edges, spritzed again and stamped. I cut the entire image out of the green and just the flowers out of the purple stamping. I rubbed the flowers in a Versamark dazzle pad and then adhered with pop dots. The sentiment is from the Basic Sentiments set. The butterfly was stamped in Almost Amethyst. I used the swiss dots embossing folder on my white oval and added a black border of cardstock to the inside of the vase. The top of the green paper was also cut with one of the new EK Success border punches. To finish things off, I added some dewdrops in the scallops.

A quick and easy project just in time for your gift for Mom!! You could fill this with vase (otherwise known as a popcorn box!) with candies, a small gift like jewelry or even a gift card!

ArtfulINKables Saturday

Hi There...it's the weekend again, yeah!! Hope you had a good week...it's going to be warm her for the next few days and I am soooo happy about that!!! With the flowers and warm air that comes with this time of year, speacial occasions also start to crop up...like graduation!! We have a niece and nephew graduating high school this year so I thought I would start on my graduation cards!!

Images by ArtfulINKables...from the newly released Celestial Bodies set.

I thought the sentiment and stars were perfect for a graduation card! Just goes to show how versatile this set is! The yellow stars were cut with my sizzix. A quick and easy card for girl or boy!

Thanks for checking in today...be sure to stop back tomorrow and guess what?! Next week we'll be starting to show peeks of the new DRS Designs images set to be released on May 2!! I'm over the moon (get it?!) over them...can't wait to share them with you!!

ArtfulINKables Saturday...

Wow, spring break flew by!!! I didn't think it would, but it did and it actually went ok!! The girls found more to do than they expected and seemed to enjoy themselves!! Yeah!!! So, here I am again with another ArtfulINKables project on a Saturday! As you may know AI just had a release of four new sets this week...here is another card from the new set Bouquets and Butterflies...

Can you see that I used patterned paper on this card?! Shocking, I know! I pulled out my mini slab of Provo Craft papers from I don't know how many years ago. I embossed the images with black craft ink and clear embossing powder. The iris is popped, as I stamped the main image twice, just for that purpose. The sentiment is stamped in black dye ink. The ribbon is Offray, from Walmart. Check out the charm, AI is carrying charms now that go with most of their sets, be sure to check them out HERE. The border above and below the sentiment panel is made with one of the new EK Success punches.

Thanks for checking in today...I'll be back tomorrow!!!

See you soon...

ArtfulINKables Saturday

Can you believe another week has flown by? We are one day into spring break...so far so good!!! Lately, Saturdays seem to be my day to post ArtfulINKables projects so we'll see how long I can keep that up!! Check back mid-week though as AI will be releasing some new sets in the upcoming week and we'll be hosting a blog hop on April 15...hey, what better way to spend your tax refund, right?!!! LOL

And now, on to my project! This was a fun one and I'm really pleased with how it came out...

Images by ArtfulINKables...Chrysanthemum set.

This is one of those clear "floating" frames. You can hang it on the wall or it comes with a little stand thingy (technical term!!) I colored the mums with my Bic markers. The sentiment is from the basis sentiments set, also by AI. The ovals were cut with my Creative Memories cutting system and I added dazzling diamonds to the flower centers. I used a cuttlebug folder on the lower portion of the green panel and stamped (although its hard to see in the photo) the butterflies from Fairy Whimsey in Versamark Dazzle on the upper portion. The three green jewels are adhered to the outside of the glass.

Thanks for checking in today...
