Everyone knows someone...

who has been touched by cancer...the limited supplies challenge over on SCS today was to make a card that could be sent to someone you know with cancer...the limited supply part was to make a card that was easy to mail - therefore, no hardware, no patterned paper and no ribbon...

My mom is a cervical cancer survivor so I am planning on making a set of the first two cards pictured here for her...

All images on these cards by DRS Designs. All the focal images are part of their newest release of images. Click on photos for closer views...

These are simple cards - images are stamped on water color paper with timber brown stazon and then colored with SU! markers...after coloring (sketchy coloring that is, not the entire image) I used my aqua painter. I bought it on my mothers day shopping spree and this is first time I have used it...I don't know why! I love this tool!!! (In the next week or two I plan on giving my opinion on some the tools I use so if you are interested, please check back!)

This one is a little bit different but still pretty simple. I pictured this stamp (a different one than yesterday) because I wanted to show you what you can do with a simple image...I stamped the image repeatedly across my paper in cranberry and then close to cocoa. I stitched along both sides and roughed the sides up on the off white paper and the cranberry paper with my Heidi Swapp distresser. I stitched a small zig zag away from the sentiment. I highlighted (hard to see, I know) each leaf and vine with my Sakura Stardust pen.

I hope you had a good week and have an even better weekend...it finally feels like Fall here in the Northeast...we are off to our second and final night of travel basketball tryouts...I think I am more nervous than dd!!!

I have a (hopefully) fun project planned for over the weekend and if all goes well - basically if what is in my head translates to the paper/project- I will be back to show you!!!

Thanks for stopping by...
See you soon...
