See Through....

cards were the subject of the technique challenge over on SCS today...the jury is still out as to whether I am a fan or not!!! I have seen some really cool ones...I've got my mind set to try another, but they are so darn hard to photograph! Here is my first one for today...

(click on photo for a closer view) I thought this deerette (Cheer Deer) from CC Designs, newest release, Reindeer Games would be just the image for this kind of card. I wanted to give her a retro feel so I used pink, celery and real red as my color combo. I colored her with watercolor pencils and blended with rubbing alcohol. Her drink is highlighted with a Sakura Stardust pen. I used a Creative Memories corner rounder to cut two corners and added a jewel to each. The green jewels are adhered to the front of the card. The real red layer is actually adhered on the inside of the card (to hide my adhesive that is holding on the white layer). I used two sided tacky tape. I added some ribbon and then decided to give my deerette a snazzy scarf with the part I snipped off! The green and white snowflakes are stamped on the front of the card in stazon ink.

I hope you had a good Monday...and possibly a day off? We went to see Underdog in the local $2 theater...it was cute, the part I saw...I took a nap!! DD's are playing with friends now so I am taking advantage of that...I will return with more eye candy later!!!

See you soon...

Love the reindeer, this is cute and what a great way to do the scarf with a ribbon.
