A switcheroo...

Today's technique challenge over on SCS was to remake a card in our gallery and switch ONLY the stamp set... here is my orignal card...(click on photo for a closer view)

all images on both cards by DRS Designs. this one used their custom holiday stamp for 2007. And this one uses one of their new holiday releases...

I stamped the focal image with black craft and then heat embossed with clear powder. I colored the lights with my chalk pencils and the blended with Q-tips. The colored in the sentiment letters with my stardust pen and outlined each light with my stardust pen. The focal point is raised on pop dots.

This next project is one that I thought of as soon as I saw the CC Designs, Gone to School set - bookmarks of Daphne and Donald!

These kiddos are also colored with my chalk pencils. I stitched around the perimeter with my sewing machine. The bookmarks are encased in bookmark pockets/sleeves that I found at Clear Envelopes... they are a laminate material that should more than protect the bookmarks during continual use. They come with a flap that already has a hole punched in it...it was a little long for this set so I just snipped the flap off, folded the excess down and added my eyelet and tassel. The prima flower and felt star are adhered to the outside of each bookmark. This was a simple, quick, fun project that could easily be replicated for an entire class or scout troop.

It's too hard to choose which one I like best, so I'm just going to say I love them both!
