Using Supplies!

Hi There! I actually used some supplies today (ok, just a little bit of them) that I had hoarded (put carefully!) away and promptly forgot about! The ways to use it challenge today was to use leather in some form on our project...while I was working today I thought and thought about what to do...and I remembered that a long time ago I found some packages of leather cord in assorted colors at our local $ store...so I dug it out and added it to this card...(click on photo for a closer view...)

This card was inspired by a mug I saw on the way out of Starbucks last weekend...I'll have to check this weekend on how close I came...this was based on my memory which can be a little iffy at times (LOL)!! I stamped the hearts in red and then stamped off for the lighter ones. I stitched stems with my machine and some grass using the zig zag stitch. I tied my red leather cord on and then some organdy on top of that. The focal image is raised on pop dots. I'm really pleased with it...although during the process I wasn't quite sure! Don't you hate it when you feel your mojo slipping slightly? I just need more time to play - is that too much to ask for?! ;-)

I have some other things in the works but we have to run out to basketball practice and I told youngest dd that I would take her to Michaels for some scrapping supplies. She is 8 and has become quite the avid scrapper in the last couple of weeks! Only thing she doesn't want to spend her Xmas money (like we planned)...she wants me to spend my money - hmnnnn....I didn't get any Xmas money...how does that work out??? It is so much fun to watch her scrap because she just does what she wants, not what we as adults would expect her to do...I have to bite my tongue to say well, why don't you put a sticker here or why on earth did you put that there??? She is so proud after she completes each page...and promptly shows us what she did and has done so far...each and every time...I think I'm going to start seeing her pages in my sleep! But, I'm proud of her and so glad I can share this hobby with her - I just hope her interest continues!

Till tomorrow...
See you soon...
