I used to have a ton of earrings with this 'look' back in high school! We used to take a trip with my cheer-leading squad into New York City every year and of course that was the best place to get all kinds of costume jewelry!!! Anyway, today's technique challenge to do faux cloisonne brought back memories!!!
It's a really easy technique with alot of punch! All you do is take a magazine or catalog ad/page and stamp in versamark or gold ink and then heat emboss with gold powder and cut out! Easy, peasy, no coloring - it's already done for you! After cutting my image out, I adhered it white cardstock, cut it again and then adhered it to the black panel with pop dots. The black panel was scored using my Scor-pal!

I inked a lily in garden green and then stamped off (stamped once on scrap paper) before stamping it just on the edge of the sentiment. I love the color of this ribbon - it matches the ad perfectly- it was a scrap - oh no, what will I do when I run out?! (LOL) Believe it or not, I used a Target ad from a couple of years ago when they sent a book like ad out...all the photos were so pretty, I figured I would use them for something...in fact, I think that was when I first discovered AmyR and her blog...she had made some cards using the same ad and I figured I would keep mine...well, if you keep things long enough, they do finally get some use!!!!
Thanks for stopping by...
See you soon...
