First day of Fall!

Can you believe it?! Wow, summer sure did fly by. I can't believe the kids are in school almost a month already! Well, with the start of Fall, also comes the month of October. As you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month...(be sure to click the link on the right each day you visit to help fund mammograms for women in need). So to help prepare for this special month, I made a candy holder, to hold the special breast cancer awareness tic tacs that are on sale now.

I really like this awareness ribbon stamp...it's just the right size for a project like this! The ribbon cut out was made with my cuttlebug die. I attached a scrap of acetate behind it. The tic tacs are in their container (click on photo for a close up) inside a small plastic bag (Wilton). The bag is stapled to the top of the holder, which is then covered with the folded scallop punch. I attached some ribbon with one of the cool DRS ribbon slides...the ribbon ribbon slide!!! I actually stamped the slide twice, cut them both out and then cut the tails off the top slide so it would give a 3-d effect. I held the two slides together while threading the ribbon thru and then just lifted the "bow" a little once all was secured. The sentiment is part of a larger stamp that says "a gift" for you! It is attached with a pop dot.

As I mentioned, I found a similar project on GinaK's blog (link on the right) but now I can't seem to locate the post. If you need more info, just let me know!

Thanks for stopping by...
I hope your week and Fall are off to a great start!
See you soon...
