Spruce up the pretty stuff!

Today's ways to use it challenge on SCS was to spruce up our already spruced up patterned paper. I stopped at the dollar spot in Target this morning (they had the mailboxes - finally - yeah!!!) and they had a bunch of packs of patterned paper for Christmas (?) and Valentines Day. I thought the paper that I used on this card...

went perfectly with the sentiment that I wanted to use. The paper (not very good quality but still cute) was plain...so I used my Quickie Glue pen and highlighted some of the flowers and then added some glitter. I used my Martha Stewart flourish border for the base of the sentiment panel and found some ribbon that matched the colors perfectly! The base layer of kraft paper was stamped with this floral background in versamark ink and then heat embossed with clear powder. So...not only did I spruce up some patterned paper, I made my own designer paper with my DRS background stamp! I have soooooo much designer paper I could paper my house with it but since the DRS Designs backgrounds are so easy to use (and small in size) I just always reach for them. They don't take up as much space as those larger backgrounds you see everywhere so they are much more cost and space efficient. Quite a few of them are called "easy" backgrounds because you don't have to worry if you don't line up the image perfectly with your previous impression or if you overlap, they are designed to look great either way! Check them out...you won't be disappointed.

Alert - you only have a few more days to participate in the DRS Designs Blog Challenge to use a ribbon slide. Just participating and posting your card will enter you into the random drawing to win stamps! Drawing will be this Sunday night!! Don't forget about the DRS GD call too...earn yourself some brownie points by applying AND participating in the challenge!!! You don't have to use a DRS ribbon slide to play, any ol' ribbon slide will do!

Thanks for stopping by...
See you soon...
