Today's ways to use it challenge on SCS was to use a frugal find on our project. Goodness knows I have a ton of finds that are not so frugal or that might have been frugal but by the time I was done shopping or buying them in multiples, the frugal thing went right out the window!!
Today, however I recycled a ribbon that was part of a wedding invitiation...it was a little mangled so I decided to hide most of it's mangledness and have just the nice parts showing!
Images by DRS Designs...
Sympathy cards always seem to be the hardest to make even though they should be kept quite simple. I tried to do that with this card...I stamped the new branch background on the card front in versamark ink. The focal image was simply stamped in black and then colored with Bic markers and a white pencil. I used my Martha Stewart flourish border punch and corner rounder on the focal panel and mat and on the bottom front of the card. I added a black strip to the inside to dress it up just a bit.
DRS has so many great sympathy sayings that I had to use one on the inside...
I stamped just a portion of the lillies from the main image and colored them in the same fashion as the front.
Simple, quick and to the point, the way a sympathy card should be!
Thanks for stopping by...
See you soon...

This is beautiful & sincere. I love the way the white looks on the craft.
The white pencil is really stunning against the craft background! I also like the delicate design of the branch image on the background. Beautiful card for a difficult occasion!
This is beautiful, Cathy! I love the white on the kraft paper!
I really like these kraft cards Cathy! They are all so pretty!
