Birthdays!!

They crop up every year and sometimes you just need a card and other times something more. So to start your week, the DRS Designs bi-weekly DT challenge was birthday creations! Be sure to stop by the DRS Designs DT blog to get a ton of inspiration from the team. But first here is my project for the challenge...

Images by DRS Designs...

I decided to use Shelldon the Turtle that was part of the new release as my focal image on my project...he fits perfectly in the birthday giga scallop frame. I stamped the turtle trail image at the bottom of the front and inside panels and the you're invited sentiment finished things off...

I did the same layout for the thank you, changing to the thank you sentiment and the triple teardrop giga scallop...the balloons on each were stamped in red craft and heat embossed with clear powder. They were then tied on with embroidery floss.

I found this cute little package of bath scents at the Target dollar spot and they had a turtle on the front...it wasn't as cute as Shelldon so I had to replace it! Since the packaging was too small for another giga scallop image, I used this mega scallop image and flip flopped my scallop and circle pairings. Clear as mud?!

Of course, the creations were not complete until I added a google eye to each one!!!

We would love for you to play along. Just post a direct link to your birthday creation (DRS images are not required, but if you have them use them!). If you upload to a public gallery, please use the keyword DRSC18.

Don't forget, you have until 8pm tonight to leave a comment on THIS POST (click here) to enter yourself in the first DRS Designs blog hop drawing.

See you soon...

What a fun idea to create a whole birthday party set! This little turtle is adorable, especially with his googlie eyes -- beautiful coloring technique, too.
