A challenge and a pig!

second post for today...

What a combo, huh?!! First, we'll start with the challenge! Today was the technique challenge over on SCS, to make a flower pot card! How fun! This is my first and I have to say, it was really fun and a great way to brighten someones day! I think these cards would be great for teacher appreciation and the card inside is just small enough for your child to jot down a quick thank you! You can find the tutorial on the challenge thread.

I immediately thought of these strawberry stamps when I saw the challenge. The large ones were perfect for the outside and the small ones were perfect for the inside. I also thought of this seed envelope stamp which can actually be used for seeds!! Just stamp it on your cardstock, color and cut out. All you have to do then is fold the sides, add some adhesive and mark what seeds you put inside. So easy...what a great way to share seeds with friends or keep them for next year! I used Vicki's versatile background to give the pot texture. Simple tag made with circle punches and this versatile sentiment tied to some ribbon and twill finished things off...of course I had to add some jewels to the flower centers!!!

Isn't he cute and fun watching the game with his....ummmm, corn dog???!!!! I used my sizzix pennant die and stars to add some fun to this one. The star brad and jewels were in my stash. I used the DRS sports background on the blue panel, machine stitched with white thread and then faux stitched with black marker on the focal panel. His foam finger was adhered with a pop dot.
