shadow box card that is!!! Today's technique challenge on SCS found here:
was to make shadow box cards - they are very quick and easy and the excellent tutorial is found here:
My first thought when I saw the tutorial was to make a Valentines card and this fish from Toucan of My Love (SU!) came to mind. I used my embossing folders to emboss the blue with bubbles and the green with swirls...I stamped my fish on pink and then pressed it into Versamark and embossed with clear powder and some dazzling diamonds...sorry about the glare, it was hard to get a photo to show the actual shadow box...the fish is raised on left over stamp rubber and I outlined some of the bubbles around the fish with my Stardust pen. I punched the front hole with my giga scallop punch and used my white gel pen to add the dots around the circle...the "bubble hearts" are beads and I used the window punch for the sentiment...the sentiment was a little too long for the actual punch so I had to make my punch out a little bit longer...I basically just cut my paper the width of the punch...slid one end in, punched, took it out and slid the end in, punched, took it out. The heart below the sentiment is a brad.
The overall size of the card seems a little small to me...I may try to fiddle with the next one and see if I can make it just a little bit bigger...
