Where did the week go?

REMINDER: Don't forget to check the post titled "Want Some Candy?" for a blog candy giveaway - don't miss out on these goodies - just leave a comment on the 'want some candy?" post and you'll find out Friday morning if you should be checking your mail box next week!!!

Time sure does fly when the kids are home - I can't believe it is Thursday evening already!!! I was able to participate in the weekly sketch challenge over on SCS yesterday but today has been a little hectic so I guess I'll just have to give you an update for now and keep my fingers crossed for later...either way, I'll be back tomorrow!!! Don't forget to check back tomorrow morning to find out the winner of the blog candy giveaway!!

Yesterdays sketch challenge found here:
was a very versatile one, I think. A good one to keep handy for those days when you are stumped!!! Here is my first one...

All images are DRS Designs - find their link on the right -->

you may have noticed I've been using alot of their designs lately...wanna know why? I'm their newest Design Team Member! Be sure to stop by and check out ALL of their awesome designs!

For this card I stamped the focal image on watercolor paper and then colored in the images...I stamped the larger flower again on a scrap of watercolor paper, cut it out and mounted it askew over the same flower...added jewels for the flower centers. The focal point and mat are popped on leftover stamp rubber and the green layer is also popped. I stamped the row of diamonds with the DRS card edger stamp and the ribbon is a $1 store find! I also pierced the green layer around the focal point.

Here is my second for the challenge...more DRS Designs...

For this card I flipped the sketch...and used the same materials because they worked and what better way to clean up but to use what is already out!!! I stamped the bunny on SU! shimmer paper and water colored a few areas...I stamped a flower border on the far right side and highlighted the centers with my gel pen. I've always wanted to try it, so I stamped the sentiment on a transparency using white Stazon ink. It is a very cool effect assuming your stamp is inked up enough...which means the pad needs to be inked up enough...I found this out the trial and error way!!! I like the effect but the fact that you have to ink the pad EVERY time you use it is kind of a pain...and it seems like a waste of ink! I don't regret purchasing it though - just hope they can fine tune it to work like their other pads...

My final card for the night was not a sketch card! It was however a case of a sketch in the SU! Spring Mini that arrived in my mailbox earlier this week. I did use the colors from this weeks color challenge though.

As you can tell, it is a tall card! I embossed my red panel with my cuttlebug folder that reminds me of the Little Pieces (SU!) stamps set. I used a combination of Big Pieces (SU!) and Little Pieces on the white panel. My sentiment is 1/8 in Karen Foster Snap Stamps...casual font. The large red flower is from the BP set...the bracket is from my Cuttlebug Alpha - Olivia font...I cut it first from chipboard and then from gold paper and adhered them together. The red and black panel behind them is pierced and the two ends were cut with my SU! small tag punch...I slid each end in from the back and punched...a quick and fun card for any occasion!

See you tomorrow!
