Happy Weekend...

Well, here it is...the first weekend of summer! It sure feels like summer here too...I think it reached 90 degrees here in CT today!! Whew! So, since it was too hot to weed the gardens ;-)
I made two cards!

Another for yesterdays ways to use it challenge...

(I apologize that you can't read the image - it is the Our Father prayer...)

I stamped the cross image in certainly celery and inked up just the rose buds with my markers in yellow and pink. I colored the ones by the cross for a little variation. I pierced around the outside of the card and faux stitched with celery marker and then around the focal image with stardust pen. I used my slit punch for my ticket corners and added some dazzling diamonds to the buds I colored. I added some gold cord to finish it off.

And this one was, just because...

(My apologies on this one to...It reads: What cancer cannot do...Cancer is limited...it cannot cripple love, it cannot shatter hope, it cannot corrode faith, it cannot destroy peace, it cannot kill friendship, it cannot suppress memories, it cannot silence courage, it cannot invade the soul, it cannot steal eternal life, it cannot conquer the spirit. Author Unknown)

I used my sizzix parchment die with parchment paper and stamped the image/poem. I inked around the edges with close to cocoa and a cotton ball. I inked the rose with close to cocoa and stamped off before stamping it over the poem. The poem is stamped in chocolate chip. The cranberry layer is stamped in cranberry with the rose image. I ran some ribbon along the bottom and added some gold cord in what (to me!) looks like the "cause" ribbon - I'm really not sure what it is called but I'm sure you know what I mean!

I had hoped to post some blog candy today but ran out of time...it's on my list for tomorrow!! Is anyone staying at home and stamping this weekend rather than picnicking? Whatever you do - have a safe and happy long weekend!

See you soon...
