I promised...

something different and here you go!!! I have three ornaments to show you today...they were inspired by the latest Holiday Crafts issue by BHG.
(click on photos for a closer view)

These first two sport images by DRS Designs - link on the right...

and

This one sports a CC Designs image - the bugz couple! You can find this one and more at All That Scraps - link also on the right!

These are fairly simple to make and I'm sure would have been quicker if I had a pair of SHARP pinking shears! I shouldn't complain though, my mom gave them to me and I think they may be an antique!!

I stamped the images on scraps of muslin with going gray ink. For some reason I have several yards of uncut muslin...I'm not sure what the original intention was for the fabric or even when I purchased it but somehow I located it last night!!! After stamping, I simply stitched the images with red floss. The two DRS ornaments are stitched with regular two ply of embroidery floss - it seemed to work better and went much quicker than the floss I used on the bugz couple. I love the floss I used on that one but I think it may have been a little to thick. I threw out the packaging so I don't remember the exact name but it is twisted and the plys cannot be separated. I use it on almost everthing because it does give a fuller look...I think it might be a little too full in this case though!

Once they were stitched, I cut a piece of chipboard just bigger than the image and a piece of fluff, layered them all together, folded the excess to the back and taped it down. I used wire for my hanger...in order to attach it to the ornament, I made a small loop of wire at each end and stitched it to the back of the ornament piece. I then cut felt with my pinking shears just a little bit bigger and glued the two pieces together with crystal effects. Done!

In the end, I'm wishing I made the circle into a square ornament...making a circle wasn't as easy as the square, all the curves and such!!! These would make cute gift attachments or a fun set of ornaments. An afterthought - I would add some beads to the wire just to dress it up a little.

Today is sketch challenge Wednesday...I'll be back with another Halloween card!
See you soon...
