Well.....

I feel a little slow today since I only made two cards compared to the last couple of days!!! Don't you hate it when everyday life gets in the way?! So, today I have for you...a pregnancy congrats card... (click on photos for closer views)

We just found out the bil/sil are expecting their second child so I thought this card would be in order!!! I have had this $1 image from Michaels for quite a while now and this is the first time it has been inked! I paper pieced her outfit with the background paper and popped her over the strips of velvet ribbon (I love this ribbon - found it at Michaels!). The sentiment piece is a sizzix oval tag that I mounted on another tag in brown. The brads are from K & Co. I added some jewels and a photo corner for filler. I don't usually like to send this kind of card but I just had to use this stamp!!!

Today's challenge over on SCS was the Ways To Use It Challenge... to make a card with a pocket, or two! Here is mine...(click on photo for a closer view)

The image on this card is a new release from DRS Designs... I stamped the image in gold craft and then heat embossed with gold powder (I wasn't in the mood for coloring today! ;-) ) This is a gift card holder that (before it is folded) measures 11in x 4.25in. I didn't measure when making the second and third folds, just eyed it! I used my snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder for the lower portion of the card. I used my scallop blade on my trimmer for the decorative edge and added my favorite jewels in the dips (the scientific term!!). I tied some SU! organdy ribbon at the top and also tied in some thin gold wired ribbon which I curled on the chubby end of my piercing tool. I think its a simple card with a big statement - especially if you receive a cool gift card inside!!!

I started working on another tag/pocket card - not sure I'm liking it...I'll see what I think in the morning! Tonight was meet the teacher night for my 3rd grader and since I just got back, I think I'll call it a night!
Thanks for stopping by...see you soon...
