What was I thinking Wednesday...

Whew - do you have ever have one of those days when you're in your stamp room/area and think maybe I shouldn't have entered today?! Today was one of those days for me...sometimes I think, maybe I shouldn't post this or that and then I think well....someone might like it, so I post whatever may be in question, just in case!! That was the situation today for my first card anyway...We all have off days, right?!

Here is my first of the day...I have definite alternate plans for this cute stamp but in a different layout/color scheme...I like the stamp and the sketch, I just don't think the colors are working for me...The angel image is a new release by DRS Designs, and the sketch is today's sketch challenge over on SCS. (click on photos for closer views)

The stars are stamped in versamark and heat embossed with clear powder. I colored the image with markers and stamped the sentiment on the side. I doodled around the perimeter of the image. I added a loop of grosgrain ribbon and a large star brad from Target (office supply section). I used my slit punch on the corners and added some silver brads. The focal point is raised on pop dots. I wanted to do a little something different with her wings so I adhered dazzling diamonds to the first image and then I stamped the image again on vellum and cut out just the wing. I cut a slit in the angels shoulder and when I cut out the vellum, left a little tab that would slide into the slit...I taped it down on the back and adhered dazzling diamonds to the front. To soften the look of the card I used a cotton ball to rub white craft ink along the outer rim of the navy layer.

This one, I like!!

How could you not like this cute Santa and reindeer, right?! Another new release by DRS Designs. I stamped the image on craft with black ink and colored with markers. The white areas are colored with a chalk marker. This is another for today's sketch challenge. I had the urge to use my handy stitch again but I decided to stamp only the top and bottom. I added some small brads to my focal point and one large on on the bottom. I colored the wave of my border stamp with my stardust pen and the circles with a marker.

Finally, another for the sketch challenge...

I used one of the DRS Designs Amish stamps for this one along with a Christmas sentiment. I stamped the circle image with gold craft and heat embossed with gold powder. I added some large metallic brads to the circle centers. My sentiment is stamped in black craft and heat embossed with clear powder. Both the focal image and sentiment are raised on pop dots. I added some SU! organdy just below. I left the background simple because I felt the focal point was busy enough. I adhered the sentiment to a half black/half gold layer to offset the background.

Well, that's it for today! Tomorrow is another day!!! I hope you enjoyed your visit today...
See you soon...

You know the first thing I thought of when I saw the angel card was that if you stamped it without the wings it would be a darling card to give a little girl who is going to be a big sister!
I think even though you aren't that happy with your cards that you are right that someone else will love it. I mean, how many times have you opened a stamp magazine and wondered how THAT card got picked?
