Are you ready?

For a new year? and a bunch of samples?? First off - I wish everyone a very happy, healthy and safe New Year! Anyone with big plans tonight? None here...staying home...eating lots of junk food and hopefully finding a movie to watch or a game to play with the girls! I don't really like going out and being on the roads on NYE so I'm sure we'll enjoy hanging out here and being together.

So, on to the samples...I have a bunch for you today...and a bunch more to follow as the week goes on so be sure to stop back...some news to share too ;-)...

Where to begin...

Today was the try a new technique challenge on SCS...split images...

Images on this one by DRS Designs. Don't you love this focal image...I have a bunch more ideas for this cool stamp...

I stamped the focal image in versamark and then used white ep - this is a great image for the white because of the bold lines...my white powder seems a bit chunky on fine line images so I was pleased with how this came out. I added a prima and brad to the center and softened the break in colors with some organdy ribbon - another favorite because it it so easy to work with and tie. You can see, but I used my slit punch to cut a notch where the ribbon knot it so it would lie on the card nicer...those bubbles on the side are dew drops...

Here's another one by DRS Designs that I made yesterday...a thoughtful card to start the new year...

This sentiment (stamped on shimmer paper with black craft and heat embossed with clear powder) is great for Valentines Day, an anniversary, an apology card (make some up in advance for your hubby to give you when he screws up!!), a just because to give your hubby (because we never screw up!!!).
The background paper is from a Die Cuts With A View mini slab that I've had for a while. I colored the rose with markers and cut one leaf off to accomodate the placement on the sentiment. I added some black velvet ribbon and raised the sentiment and rose on pop dots.

And now, more sneak peeks from the newest CC Designs stamp sets to be released on Jan. 4, 2008.

First a class/scout/kids in the family or kids at heart treat...

A lollipop topper - I used mega and giga scallop punches. The lion is from the new set Love Ya Lots...sshhh...the lion is really Lulu in disquise! I colored the "lion" with markers...the heart on the lion is raised on a pop dot...same for the one on the tag. The white heart is a sizzix die cut. A fun treat and the only thing that took much time was cutting Lulu, I mean the "lion" out!

And finally...what just may top the list of cutest images from the two sets being released...these love birds...

I'm really trying to stop hoarding all my stuff so I used more dp - this one from a provo craft mini slab - it's so pretty!!! The hearts are sizzix die cuts - I cut them from watercolor paper. The images are stamped with brown stazon...I colored with markers and my aqua painter. I sponged bliss blue on the big heart and stitched with my machine. I distressed the dp with my Heidi Swapp edge distressor. I added some primas and some jewel centers. The jewels were clear when I started but I colored them with my yellow copic marker and...instant jewels in whatever color I need (assuming I have that color marker!) You can't see but I highlighted the girls beak with my stardust pen and gave her some eyelashes.

Well, I'm off to start pigging out on the junk food that dd and dh bought at the store! You can be sure that the new year will bring healthy eating to make up for a night of "fun food"! or at least an attempt at healthy eating!

Thanks for stopping by - assuming you are still with me at this point...
I wish you all the best in 2008 - see you here next year!
Have a fun/safe night...
See you soon...
