Valentine Monday...

I have two valentines for you today...
the first just a general card with non valentine images and colors....

All images by DRS Designs...

A clean and simple card...I used the left over heart punch and adhered it to the bear after coloring it with my stardust pen. I stitched an "x" with some linen thread and did a little machine stitching above and below the focal images. I think this is a great sentiment for those of us with friends who may not have met the "right" person yet...

I also participated in the try a new technique challenge on SCS today - to make a pixie pouch...

I thought the heart stamped in the background coordinated well with the skate images, particularly the laces...I machine stitched around the skates and around the entire pouch, making sure I didn't sew it closed! Don't laugh, I have done that before without thinking about what I was doing! I added some velvet ribbon to the flap and added a jewel brad to the sentiment scallop. A rather quick project! I made my pouch from an 8 x 8 piece of cardstock to accomodate the skate image. (The pouch is empty because the kids ate all the candy in the house! What a shock!)

I took full advantage of my day off today! The girls were at playdates and I actually made three cards! One I can't show you just yet because I submitted it for publication...keep your fingers crossed...if it doesn't get picked up, you can be sure you will see it here! I also took oldest dd to see Mr. Magoriums Wonder Emporium (is that the correct title?!) I can't even remember! It was an interesting movie for one that was "G" rated - a little over some of the littles ones heads, I think, but that's just me. It was entertaining but I think dd was a little bored. Anyway...if you have some time to kill, see it but don't go out of your way!!!

Thanks for checking in...I hope you enjoy your visits...if you have any suggestions/feedback/things you would like to see in the future, let me know - I'm always looking for different inspiration ideas...I guess that is why I like the SCS challenges so much...so just let me know!!!

See you soon...
