Wet Paint!!

No, it's dry now...actually this Making Memories paint dried almost instantly!! Today's ways to use it challenge on SCS was to use paint...I finally found time to stamp today! I decided to try a simple shabby chic card...did I succeed?

Today's card consists of found materials and scraps! What better way to use things up right? The kraft layer actually came as part of the address label in my Scrapbooks Etc. issue that arrived today...I just flipped it over! The olive was a scrap and the paint (MM cantaloupe) was in a set I found on clearance at Target some time ago and just opened today! The lace, well, I have no idea where the lace came from but I found it in a bin of ribbon I forgot I had! The beads on the pin came from the girls stash. I guess you could say I went shopping around the house today!!!

Anyway...I brushed the paint on the olive layer with a scrap of sponge, it dried very quickly. I stamped the heart image on a transparency with brown stazon. I roughed up the edges of the kraft layer and the card with my Heidi Swapp distresser tool. After I attached the lace I cut a scrap and ran it under the strip and then up and thru the flower center to tie it in a knot. The "stick pin" is a hat pin with some beads stuck on it...and then I stuck it into the flower center knot. Ooops, almost forgot that I did some crazy stitching on my machine...can you tell this was a fun card to make! I just felt like moving away from my usual today!

Well, I'm off to pick up dd from basketball so we can get home in time for me to watch The Apprentice!!!

I'll have another JessicaLynnOriginal sneak peek tomorrow...
See you soon...

I think you did indeed succeed, that is a beautiful card! I need to drag out my paints and have a go at it.
