Don't you hate it when the days get away from you?! I'm trying to get back into the swing of things but it's harder than I thought it would be! DD's basketball team is in a tournament this week and because a new year is starting, I had the urge to start cleaning 10 years of junk out of the basement in between said games! I brought an SUV full of "stuff" to the dump today and it's just the tip of the iceberg!! So, needless to say I'm falling behind on other things.
I'm happy to say though that I completed yesterday's technique challenge...today! The challenge was to make a squash card...a funky folding, hard to photograph card but fun all the same.
Images by DRS Designs...the large flake and sentiment (love the stars for the letter dots!!!) might look new to you...that's because they are!!! They should be available for purchase sometime next week. Stay tuned and I will let you know exactly when. What a fun release this month...don't miss it!!!
and the inside...
This 3-d snowflake is similar to the star that was released a few months ago...very clever and versatile. I created a belly band for my card rather than using ribbon. I dressed it up with some piercing using my Ornare piercing template and some jewels. The white flakes are an image that was released last month. I stamped them in Brilliance white, a craft ink, that dries pretty quick. I machine stitched on the visible folds and added some jewels to the sentiment panel inside as well as on the larger white flakes.
Well, that's it for now...today's SCS color challenge looks like a tough one...that's ok...if it doesn't work I have plenty of scrapbooking and new release "stuff" to get ready for you! Stay tuned for a New Years filled with new images!!!
See you soon...
