for a Happy Valentines Day!!! Yup, it's that time to start gearing up for Valentines Day! The limited supply challenge on SCS yesterday was to make a non-cheesey Valentine...something better than those drugstore ones we've all purchased in the past! Well, I was having some computer problems yesterday, which always puts me in a funk...I'll admit, I'm addicted to stamping AND my computer!!! Anywho...it's all better now and since the project was done, I figured I would post it...not my best work but maybe you will find some inspiration in it...
Images by DRS Designs...
DRS has a ton of great Valentine images but when I was thinking of store bought kids Valentines this monster came to mind for DRS Halloween collection! I simply inked him with a marker so I could omit the Trick or Treat wording and then stamped him on my paper. I colored him with markers and added the sentiment the small heart from this image to his sign.
I then put some kisses into a glassine bag hole punched through the bag and the white layer, ran my ribbon through and then attached the white to the pink backing. DD can sign the back of the card or in one of the corners on the front. The challenge also stipulated that it needed to be a no-fold card. I used my rolling paper piercer along the edges...it's by Cutterbee. It's a cute little thing and it's great if you want "sloppy" pierced edges...I'm not sure that is what I was looking for her but...
What do you think about the fancy sides and corners on my card? Similar to the top note die and nestabilities everyone has been using...no? I really like the look of all those products, but the nesties are a little out of my price range right now and the top note die is only one size. For my edges I used the new Martha Stewart flourish border punch that I purchased from Impress. Now I can make similar cuts on all sizes of panels!! You simply center your paper and push!
Ok, that's it for now...so much stamping to do, so little time! Don't forget you have one more week to enter the DRS Designs blog challenge...simply make a card using a ribbon slide...it can be a DRS ribbon slide, a purchased slide OR make one from a regular image...be creative and WIN!!!!!! Drawing will be next Sunday 1/25.
Hope you can play along...you'll make my week if you do!!!! ;-)
See you soon...
