My new toy!

No, its not a new tool!! I made these ball in the hole (for lack of a better name) toys for my dds' scout goodies yesterday...
(sorry about the glare - I must have taken about 20 pics and this was the best one!)

These were inspired by Staramaze on SCS - you can find her "toy" here:

I added a few things to mine...like a scarf...it is supposed to be folded over on the right hand side but since I stickumed the ribbon on the outside and can't get to it, it has decided to become unstuck! great!
They are relatively simple and the first one went pretty quickly but when you are making 18 of them, things tend to get slowed down quite a bit! By the end of the day, I had had it but with dd#2 helping after school, we got through it!! They are now packaged in little candy cane treat bags with some Hersheys kisses and they are ready to go!!

Anywho - these are made from Wilton favor tins...I cut the blue circle with the largest circle of the Sizzix 4 circle die...I then cut the same circle from chipboard. The snowman is from Cold Play (SU!)...I stamped the head, punched it with one of my punches that fits perfectly! and then stamped his face and nose. The eyes and every other mouth piece were punched with a 1/8in hole punch...I then had to punch through the blue and the chipboard (my hands were killing me by the time that part was done!) marking the holes prior to punching with a pencil. I adhered the blue to the chipboard, the head to the blue and then stamped, cut out and adhered the hat. The band is colored with a silver gel pen, the flower is punched from red foil paper and then I adhered a jewel. I covered the man's head with two way glue and adhered some dazzling diamonds (SU!). I cut a piece of ribbon, folded it over, adhered the fold with sticky (or should I say non-sticky! tape) and then adhered under the head. Oops, almost forgot that I stamped snowflakes on the blue with white craft. Once everything was set, I adhered the chipboard and all its ebellishments to the inside of the favor tin with my tape runner, dd added 5 BB's (found in the hunting section at Walmart - DH was with me on that shopping trip - he was a little curious as to why I would need BB's, since no one in the family has ever and probably will never hunt, but once I mentioned needing them for stamping, he decided he would be better off not to pursue it any further...but now he knows why I needed them!!!! ;-) ), put the top on, ran my tape runner along the outside where the top and bottom meet, added my ribbon and some hanging cord - done! Phew!
I hope they like them...they can play with them and hang them on the tree - the gift that keeps on giving!!!! I'm just worried they won't know what they are and will just hang them on the tree without playing with them! Let me tell you though, it takes a lot of skill to get those BB's in those holes...if they figure out what they are, they will be occupied for hours!!!!
See you soon...
