Inspired by the fan club...

This is a gift for my dh's grandmother, dds' great-grandmother...we didn't see her over the holidays so we're visiting her tomorrow...she's 91! What do you get a 91 year old for Xmas?! When I saw a version of this in the Fan Club Gallery at SCS, I knew I had to case it! If you have access to the gallery you can find it in "The Shape of Things to Come" - last January's gallery. The original is by Pinefeather. I made some changes so its not an exact case but I'm pretty pleased with it. If you don't have access, become a member!!! More info here:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/about/fan.php It will be the best money you have ever spent!!!

The base is a prestretched/preprinted canvas that dd found at a discount store...it came with paints and cute picture to paint in...since those paints rarely work she decided to color it with markers and when she was half way through decided to just leave it on the basement floor for several months to get buried under other discarded toys! Well, I went through the basement to clean up this week and decided that I could salvage it into this gift! So, here it is all made over!

First I painted it with a wine colored acrylic paint - two coats. When it was dry I poured some black over the top and then brushed it around and off with a paper towel. Once that was dry I "inked" up my stamp with white paint and a Q-tip and stamped randomly over the surface. I believe Pinefeather used white craft and a much finer lined heart but my white craft doesn't stamp quite so bright so I opted for the paint. The ribbon is SU! organdy and the charm is from the Target $1 spot - last year. I took a quick photo and printed it on my printer...mounted it on black cardstock...I added the spiral clip and a jewelry tag stamped with my 1/8in snap stamps...it still looked a little plain so I made a photo corner, stuck it in my d'vine swirls embossing folder and then outlined the swirls with my Stardust gel pen.

Have a great week...
See you soon...
