Karen H - where are you??

Karen you are the winner of the blog candy giveaway from Monday...please send me an email with your snail mail address so I can send this box out to you!!!

Well, a sketch a day makes....the laundry pile up!! Today is Wednesday... the sketch challenge over on SCS...http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=236105

Here is card one...

This card has an image from a retired SU! set - Nature's Wonders as the focal point. I stamped the navy in canvas and print pattern in navy ink and then used my swirl embossing folder. I stamped the main image and the sentiment in close to cocoa ink...the sentiment is from my new Papertray set... The scallop under the focal point is two scallop punches adhered together...one has the top cut off it to fit the size of the focal point. I used some two colored hemp to tie the sentiment on and then pierced the bottom and used the same hemp to tie knots across the bottom of the card. To finish it off I made a photo corner from a scrap punch and embossed that as well. I love these antique look brads - they seem to go with almost everything!!

As you can see the weather has turned nice enough to once again take photos outside!!! Yeah!

Card two...

As I was making this I felt like the sketch was going way off base!!! I always try to adhere to the challenge as close as possible...once I stepped away from it though, it seemed to grow on me!!

I embossed a piece of vellum with my cuttlebug...word of caution...if you are using your folder in your sizzix, try not to push down too hard when embossing vellum or it will crack - the vellum that is! Both images are by DRS - link on the right...

I used my slit punch on the corners and adhered jewels in each corner...the main image is inked with my SU! celebration spectrum pad as well as the flowers on the bottom - they are from one of the great card edger stamps by DRS - you get two stamps on one block - very cool! I then stamped my butterfly again in the same ink, this time on vellum and cut it out...I then ran it through my Xyron and sprinkled on dazzling diamonds. I folded the wings so the two sided tape would have a flat surface to stick to. I adhered three jewels to the center of the focal point butterfly.

Update on the baby project -- as expected it is not going as planned!!! I think I figured out where I am going wrong so I will try again tomorrow...once you see it you will wonder why the heck I had a hard time, but that is the kind of day I am having!!!

Hence this question......

Do you have Webkinz in your house? Our local stores have been out of them for a couple of weeks - not that we don't already have our fair share - and one by one they are getting them in in dribs and drabs...in our house we need to earn them...dd#1 earned hers...dd#2 has not - need I say more?! I need to end this post as she is wiggling across the floor in despair...is it bed time yet? Not for them, for ME!!!!!

See you soon...I hope!!!

We do not have any in our household as my girls don't really know what they are...thank goodness. I only know because the guy on the radio gives one away every day on our way to school.
