Weekend Catch-Up...

Whew, another busy weekend, what else is new?! I found time last night to make two cards...I also found time this weekend to buy more patterned paper - not sure why - well, I know why, it was too pretty to pass up. But...I have so much patterned paper I could probably wallpaper most of my house with it!!! Anyway...here are a couple of cards using DRS Designs, www.drsdesigns.com



The boot stamp is part of a pair - I inked and stamped one boot repeatedly, right side up and upside down...I colored it in with my bravo burgundy marker. The green paper is part of a textured paper pack I found at Walmart in the fall. I added some hemp on the lower right to offset the sentiment which is matted on some scraps to give a little bit more color to the card. I stamped my large plaid stamp on the far right. I distressed the edges with my scissors...my intent was to make it a Fathers Day card but after thinking about it, it really could also be used as a dad's birthday card - just change the inside sentiment. Heroes have birthdays, right?!

Next up is a graduation card using my new grad background from DRS Designs...



I stamped the tassel in red on red on the far right and then stamped the lighter version over my sentiment. The diploma ribbons in the background are colored with my real red marker. The sentiment is popped. I used my slit punch to make my ticket corners and added some brads.

I hope to be back later - I'd like to try today's technique challenge - tiles with no grout!!! Sounds interesting doesn't it??? Wish me luck!!
