Full Monday!!!

Well, it's been a full card making day!! Today is the technique challenge over on SCS - to try something new...horizontal pocket cards...these are so easy and fun to make and you can do so many different things with them...here are my first two...(click photos for closer looks)

All images on these first two by DRS Designs.

This first one I did horizontally using one of the newer releases from DRS Designs. Don't you love this stamp? Looks like Santa mixed his colors with his whites!!! (LOL) I added some liquid applique for the fur on his suit and the snow. I faux stitched around the focal image. How do you like my candy cane paper??? I made it using the large plaid stamp - inked it up with red and stamped diagonally on my paper - didn't even use the stamp-a-ma-jig - just eyeballed it! The ribbon is from Michaels - in the holiday ribbon section - it is green velvet with red satin on the other side - yummy!!! I just had to add some more color and use more of the ribbon so I made a tab at the top of the pull out and attached it with a Making Memories jewel brad.

This next one is everyone's favorite snowman!!!

I flipped the card on this one because I wanted to use my vertical greeting! I used my snowflake embossing folder to emboss around my stamped image...it was little tricky but I finally managed to get the impressions the way I wanted them! Other than my struggles with the folder and the fact that it only fits one way through my sizzix, the card is pretty simple. I machine stitched around the perimeter - added more velvet ribbon - this time in black! Added some jewels (of course) to some of the flakes and a used my buckle punch for a silver buckle! I added liquid applique to the snow under my man and to his flakes! I added a little pull tab to this one too with a circle punch and a larger jewel.

Next up is the same kind of card using some of the new images from CC Designs, to be released on Wednesday, November 7!!

This card sports images from both new Little Bits Kits - Lulu's Sweet Treats and Lucky's Christmas Wishes. Lulu is sitting atop Lucky's packages! The holly image is from Lulu's set and the sentiment is from Lucky's - are you still with me?!!! I told you they work awesome together! I machine stitched around the dp by Daisyd's and colored Lulu with markers. The gift tags are from the Sizzix gifts die. I couldn't help but use more of my velvet ribbon - this time showing part of the flip side. I also adhered a Heidi Swapp ghost flake that I coated with red glitter glue. The flake is attached with a Making Memories jewel brad. The focal image is raised on pop dots. This was a fun card to make! You can find the dp and ghost images at All That Scraps.

Are you still with me????
Still waiting to see those ornaments I mentioned for the last couple of days??? Well, here they are...I took a quick photo of them....

They are porcelain rounds that I applied rub-ons too...I made the hats myself! I'm planning on giving these as part of the girls teacher gifts this year and my intention is to have the girls sign the backs with a paint pen. Once I have the gift sets complete, I'll post the whole ensemble!

Thanks for stopping by - I hope you enjoyed your visit today...
See you soon...
