Later than I wanted to post anyway! I feel like the white rabbit lately...late for everything!!! But, here I am, as promised with two fun things to show you!!! (click on photos for closer views)
Today's Ways to Use it Challenge was to make a tea bag holder...well, I have tons of ideas for these but only had time for this one today...I just rec'd my new stamps from A Chemistry With Paper and realized that this candy apple stamp (from Holiday Treats) would be perfect with the candy apple tea I found at the grocery store!!
I stitched with my machine on the outside and I stitched the flap on the inside that holds the tea. The apple is colored with markers and the "caramel" is covered with crystal effects. I added some white gel pen specks too for shine! The ribbon runs under the apple image and around the outside back of the holder and ties at the top to keep it closed. These are so quick and easy...they would be a fun little something to slip inside your neighbors mailbox or for the assistants at school, etc.
I thought of this idea in the shower today - where I do my best thinking!!! (LOL)
This is a gingerbread cookie recipe in a jar...again featuring the Holiday Treats set from A Chemistry With Paper. This was a fun project. I stamped on the glass with brown stazon ink...using the acrylic stamps for this makes it much easier...especially when you use the border stamps...they stick to the glass!!! After I cleaned the jar, I stamped it and added white highlights to the frosting areas with my white gel pen and then I filled it! The tag has a pocket in it that I slipped the recipe into (I printed it on the computer). I machine stitched the tag and raised the scallop pieces on pop dots. How do you like my red jewels??? Those are the clear ones I use all the time except THIS time, I colored them with my red copic marker...how cool is that!!!
All I have to do now is attach the tag and cookie cutter...I think I might give this to our mail lady...
I hope you enjoyed your visit(s) today...
See you soon...
