I skipped out...

on the color challenge today (I hope to do it tomorrow and possibly combine it with the sketch for the day - is it me or is this a busy time of year?! ;-) ) because I wanted to finish up some projects that were starting to take over my desk!

I've has this simple card idea in my head for while now and finally put it on paper (!) today...click on photo for a closer view...

All images by DRS Designs. Both images are new releases...

The image is colored with markers and I added some dazzling diamonds for the snow...the song is going through your head now too, right?!!

A while back on one of my many trips to Michaels, I purchased some wood ornaments that I knew had to be covered with some of the dp from stash...well, here's one!

DD took this picture of her cousin on Thanksgiving and since this was the best one, I decided to make it into an ornament for my BIL/SIL. I first painted the back and sides of the heart with brown acrylic paint. Once it was dry, I covered it with dp from Piggy Tales using modgepodge. I sanded and distressed the edges with chocolate chip ink and then added another layer of modgepodge. The snowman is stamped and layered on scallop cuttlebug dies...I stamped the snowman on SU! shimmer paper and colored with markers. The whole thing is raised on a pop dot. The ribbon is May Arts. The green dots are glitter dots - very cool - they look like brads but have a flat back - I adhered them with glue dots.

Ready for more different things???
Remember those candy tins from the Target $1 spot? Well, I still have some!!! This is one of them...covered in dp from Flair Designs. The stamped image is from the Holiday Treats set by A Chemistry With Paper.

And this is the inside...a jewelry set made from shrink plastic - otherwise known as shrinky dinks!!! Remember those?!

I ransacked dd's bead kits for the jewelry findings...these were fun and dd has already staked claim on them!! The necklace is hard to see (sorry about that) but it was stamped on a scallop punch so it is actually really cute in real life! The punch shrunk very nicely.

And finally...another set!

Images by CC Designs, from the newest release Winter Playtime. The pouch is made from a sheet of acetate using a template I found at Target...(I'm asking for a Scor-Pal for Christmas - using a ruler to score is just not cutting it) I stamped the flakes and sentiment (Happy Winter) from the set in white stazon but it is hard to see...sorry! You can see the original image size in the penguin on the front of the pouch...I think they shrunk to a nice size for little ears! Yes, these have been claimed as well!

Well, I hope you enjoyed your visit today...thanks for stopping by...
See you soon...
