A Tuesday Two-fer!

Wow - today was a full day! I worked, took the girls and a friend to see the Spiderwick Chronicles, finished my technique challenge card (that I started yesterday) AND was able to do the color challenge...although I'm not sure about this combo!!!

So, here we go...here is the technique challenge card...

Images on both cards by DRS Designs...

A double pocket card - very easy and fun to make!!! Rather than use patterned paper, I stamped one side of my red with black dots using the DRS dotted background. I hand-stitched the sides with black floss. For the tag, I stamped the pile of ladybugs in gray and then stamped over it with the sentiment in black and used my marker for stitching. The scallop is a bookmark. Once side is in the pocket and the outer side decorates the front of the card! I folded my paper and then slipped into my giga scallop punch (clever lever) and stopped sliding it in just short of making a full circle before punching. Clear as mud?! The lady bug is popped. You'll notice that she has wire antennae...I could say that that was my original intention but...I was actually talking on the phone to my mom while cutting the lady bug out...I think you can quess what happened next....yup, I lopped off one of her antennae and since I didn't feel like coloring and cutting her again, I just grabbed my wire and curled!!!

Here is the color challenge card - not really my colors...I don't have the correct gray so I went with a lighter version that I actually have a bunch of!

This sentiment is a new release this month. I used my scor-pal for the embossed lines on the gray panel. I also layered gray on gray and white on white for that nestabilities look! (LOL) I colored my bridal flowers with my coral marker, added some coral ribbon and clear dew drops.

What do you think? Does it work?

Thanks for stopping by...
See you soon...

Both of these are great. I love the stitching along the side of the ladybug card, and the colours are wonderful on the sympathy card. I'm going to have to do a multi-challenge card later this week...no time for individual ones right now. Jaon
